It was a good run, but the Northside Christian School Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell to Sumter Christian 54-50. Northside Christian School was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sumter Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Northside Christian School lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jeremiah Wilson. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points. Wilson scored a full 48% of Northside Christian School's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Matthew Satterfield was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Aj Danzy was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points for Sumter Christian. The match was Danzy's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Quayshawn While, who scored ten points.
Northside Christian School's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Sumter Christian, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northside Christian School will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Grace Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Sumter Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Orangeburg Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th.
