Basketball Recap: David Crockett's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

David Crockett was the 73-53 winner over Daniel Boone when they last played one another last Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The David Crockett Pioneers fell to the Daniel Boone Trailblazers 63-58. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Pioneers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Trailblazers are ranked 120th).

David Crockett lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brylee Tullock, who went 6 of 11 en route to 15 points along with six boards and five steals. Tullock has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Laney Britton, who posted 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Even though they lost, David Crockett smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

David Crockett's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 16-3. As for Daniel Boone, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-8.

David Crockett will head out to challenge Dobyns-Bennett at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Daniel Boone, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Volunteer at 6:30 p.m.
