The Trinity Bulldogs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 85-52 victory over Uwharrie Charter. Trinity might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five contests by 21 points or more this season.
Trinity's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dominic Payne led the charge by almost dropping a triple-double on 31 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which Payne has scored at least 25% of Trinity's points. Brandon Campbell was another key contributor, scoring 30 points along with seven rebounds.
The victory was the third in a row for Trinity, bringing their record for this year to 10-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Uwharrie Charter, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.
Trinity will head out on the road to face off against Providence Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence Grove will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 471st, while Trinity is ranked 212th). As for Uwharrie Charter, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Randleman.
