After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Heritage, the Brookstone Cougars were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They came out on top against St. Mary's Academy by a score of 62-53. That's another feather in the cap for Brookstone, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Brookstone's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chapman Dykes led the charge by scoring 14 points. Thomas Henderson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Brookstone has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for St. Mary's Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
Brookstone and St. Anne-Pacelli will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. St. Anne-Pacelli knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully Brookstone likes a good challenge. As for St. Mary's Academy, they will be playing at home against Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. Mary's Academy in Georgia (Heritage is ranked 24th, while St. Mary's Academy is ranked 486th).
