It was a good run, but the Miller County Pirates unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 66-57 to Quitman County. Miller County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Quitman County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played on January 9th.
Miller County's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jayden McCray, who scored 20 points, and Andrew Keown who scored 20 points. McCray has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kia'Londre Butler, who scored eight points.
Miller County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Quitman County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miller County will square off against Early County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Early County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Miller County in Georgia (Early County is ranked 169th, while Miller County is ranked 434th). As for Quitman County, they will head out on the road to square off against Randolph-Clay at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
