The Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their2023 ended with a 75-56 loss against Pius X. Lincoln Southwest has not had much luck with Pius X recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Lincoln Southwest still got an impressive performance from Bj Bradford, who scored 19 points. The matchup was Bradford's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Frager, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Lincoln Southwest struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Treyson Anderson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds for Pius X. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Anderson has scored at least 25% of Pius X's points. Another player making a difference was Parker Kelly, who scored 12 points.
Lincoln Southwest has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Pius X, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-3.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Lincoln Southeast the next time they take the court. Pius X will head out to face Lincoln Southeast at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, while Lincoln Southwest will head out to face them at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
