With a playoff win on the line, Tampa Catholic rose to the challenge on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 82-64 win over the Lake Highland Prep Highlanders. Winning may never get old, but the Crusaders sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tampa Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Skoot Donald, who went 6-for-7 to rack up 19 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Donald a new career-high. Isaiah Campbell-Finch was another key player, going 6-for-7 en route to 19 points and seven assists.
Several Highlanders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michael Madueme, who went 7-for-11 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds. Madueme's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of RJ Ingram, who went 8-for-14 to rack up 21 points.
Tampa Catholic's record now sits at 21-9. As for Lake Highland Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 23-5.
Tampa Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 83-79 defeat against The Villages Charter on the 20th. Lake Highland Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
