Washburn is on a five-game streak of home wins, while the Tigers are on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Washburn Millers will take on the Minneapolis South Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Washburn proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 33) but on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Minneapolis Southwest and snuck past 52-50. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Washburn has scored all season.
Meanwhile, even though Roosevelt scored an imposing 57 points on Wednesday, Minneapolis South still came out on top. Minneapolis South beat the Teddies by the very same score they won with last week: 74-57.
Washburn's win bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Minneapolis South, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.
Washburn didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Tigers in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 60-54 win. Does Washburn have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
