The Barberton Magics's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a 45-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Aquinas. Barberton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Aquinas apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Aquinas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayzelle Gibson, who scored 12 points along with five steals. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of K'Lynn Carter, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Barberton's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Aquinas, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Barberton will square off against North at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Aquinas, they will head out on the road to face off against Mogadore at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Mogadore focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday.
