The NorthPoint Christian Academy NightHawks pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Liberty Preparatory Christian. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for NorthPoint Christian Academy in their matchups with Liberty Preparatory Christian: they've now lost three in a row.
Several NightHawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Talan Pollack, who almost dropped a triple-double on 20 points, nine rebounds, and nine blocks. Pollack is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lawson Skinner, who scored 16 points.
NorthPoint Christian Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7. As for Liberty Preparatory Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. NorthPoint Christian Academy will challenge Lab University Prep Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Lab University Prep Regional is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Liberty Preparatory Christian, Liberty Preparatory Christian and Providence Classical will face off at 6:45 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Providence Classical has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 193 points over their last three games.
