The Birdville Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Argyle Eagles at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Birdville is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Birdville came up short against Grapevine and fell 50-38.
Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Argyle's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 45-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Colleyville Heritage. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Argyle came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Colleyville Heritage is ranked 126th).
Birdville has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season. As for Argyle, their defeat ended a 17-game streak of away wins and brought them to 27-4.
Birdville was taken down by Argyle 56-23 when the teams last played on January 2nd. Can Birdville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
