After flying high against the Red Rock Scorpions last Monday, the Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans came back down to earth. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy fell to the Falcons 33-27. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played two weeks ago.
Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chloe Crandall, who scored two points along with 12 rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Hurley, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
It was another big night for Mckenzie Perrault, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds for Veritas Prep. Perrault has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Jaz Cobb was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 16 rebounds and four steals.
Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Veritas Prep, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6.
Scottsdale Preparatory Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Veritas Prep won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Gophers at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Florence is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
