Football Recap: Concord Skates Past Goshen with Ease

While Concord put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Goshen. The Minutemen breezed past the RedHawks to the tune of 42-0. That 42 point margin sets a new team best for the Minutemen this season.

Concord was led to victory by CHAR'RESE BREVEARD and BO BRUNNER. BREVEARD rushed for 104 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries, while BRUNNER rushed for 54 yards and one score on only six carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Concord was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 237 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 161 rushing yards in 13 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Another reason for the win was Concord's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was LUCAS WHITMAN with two.

Concord's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Goshen, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Concord will host Wawasee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Minutemen will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.71 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Goshen, they will venture away from home to take on Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
