Make it four blowout wins for the Union Local Jets this season. They blew past Bellaire 76-54. Given Union Local's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while Bellaire is ranked 581st), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Union Local's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Easton Ditzler, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ditzler has scored all season. Gannon Kerns was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Union Local's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Bellaire, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.
Union Local will be playing at home against Cambridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cambridge has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. Bellaire won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Shadyside at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th.
