Basketball Recap: Delta Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

It's playoff time, and Delta had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Braves 45-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since March 9, 2024.

Bronson Edwards was his usual excellent self, shooting 60% from the field en route to 19 points and six boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Furney, who posted 12 points and four steals.

Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kellen Pickett, who earned 11 points and four blocks. Bryce Sefton was another key player, putting up nine points and six rebounds.

Delta has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. With the loss, Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian broke their 13-game winning streak and moved their record to 24-4.

Coming up, Delta will challenge East Chicago Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. East Chicago Central will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Delta surely won't give up without a fight. Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
