Baseball Recap: Harrah Gets the Win

Harrah's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They never let the McLoud Redskins get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Panthers have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Joey Mclaughlin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Harrah: the team is 8-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, Cash Flint was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Cal Whitnah was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two RBI.

Harrah always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McLoud only posted an OBP of .125.

Harrah's record is now 15-12. As for McLoud, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-13 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harrah will venture away from home to face off against Byng at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for McLoud, they are taking a road trip to challenge Tecumseh at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
