The Sabine Cardinals were the 51-43 winner over the Joaquin Rams when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Sabine took a 46-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Joaquin on Wednesday. Sabine has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Joaquin found their leader in underclassman Ellie Anglin, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Anglin continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Fuller, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Sabine has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season. As for Joaquin, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.
Sabine won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cooper at 8:15 p.m. on December 28th. Joaquin and Mineola will round out the year against one another at TBD on Friday at.
