Baseball Recap: Snook Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against Escambia Academy

Snook Christian Academy was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Escambia Academy on Tuesday. The Snook Christian Academy Eagles were the clear victor by a 16-3 margin over the Escambia Academy Cougars. That 13 run margin sets a new team best for the Eagles this season.

Aaron Ashley made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Jayden Ables and Ethan Bettner did most of the damage at the plate: Ables scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Bettner scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, Bettner posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Swede Degraaf also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Snook Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

With the win, Snook Christian Academy broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-5. As for Escambia Academy, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-5.

Snook Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 19-0 victory against Atmore Christian on the 13th. As for Escambia Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-2 win against Sparta Academy on the 17th.
