Central is 0-6 against West Plains since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Central Bulldogs just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the West Plains Zizzers at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 399th, while West Plains is ranked 31st).
On Thursday, Central was the victim of a rough 64-44 loss at the hands of Lebanon. Central has struggled against Lebanon recently, as their game on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, West Plains scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by Parkview at home to the tune of 77-23. West Plains has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.
Central dropped their record down to 1-17 with that loss, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.5 points per game. As for West Plains, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Central took a serious blow against West Plains in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 62-13. Can Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
