The Bishop McDevitt Crusaders will head out on the road to face off against the Trinity Shamrocks at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Bishop McDevitt has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Bishop McDevitt's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They skirted past Red Land 2-0. That's two games straight that the Crusaders have won by exactly two runs.

The result came thanks to Tyler Shroy's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks. He has become a key player for Bishop McDevitt: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 5-10 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Trinity had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Spartans as they made off with a 15-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Shamrocks, who have now won seven matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Trinity got a massive performance out of Garreth Calder, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Myers, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Trinity was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in five consecutive games.
Trinity's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Bishop McDevitt, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-11 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bishop McDevitt has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Trinity struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Bishop McDevitt couldn't quite get it done against Trinity when the teams last played back in March as they fell 8-5. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
