The Twin Valley South Panthers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 80-52 loss at the hands of Brookville. While losing is never fun, Twin Valley South can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 747th, while Brookville is ranked 361st).
Twin Valley South lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jandon Ankrom, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Thuma, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brookville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jace Wood, who scored 23 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Cole Crabtree, who scored 20 points along with three steals.
Twin Valley South has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Brookville, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Twin Valley South will take on Preble Shawnee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Preble Shawnee has 12 straight victories, Twin Valley South has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field. As for Brookville, Brookville and Eaton will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
