Harrison Central has gone 7-2 against Indian Creek recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Huskies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Redskins at 5:00 p.m. Harrison Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Harrison Central's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on East Liverpool with a sharp 13-0 win. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Potters recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Not much got past Emma Skinner, who gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks to keep East Liverpool off the board. Skinner has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Harrison Central got a massive performance out of Olivia Tonkovich, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs Tonkovich has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Powers, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Harrison Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in seven consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Indian Creek lost 8-2 to Beaver Local on Wednesday. The game marked the Redskins' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
McKenna Scott was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Scott was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Riley Sadler made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. Emma Vok was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Indian Creek now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Harrison Central, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
Harrison Central skirted past Indian Creek 6-5 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Redskins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
