While losing is never fun, Rosemont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 596th, while Antelope is ranked 120th).
When it comes to explaining why Rosemont lost, one person who can't be blamed is Amahd Ellis. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaren Luna, who scored 6 points.
Antelope can attribute much of their success to Daunte Martin, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Artem Rudko, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds.
Rosemont now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Antelope, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Rosemont will look to defend their home court on Monday against Johnson at 7:00 p.m. Johnson will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Antelope, they will head out on the road to face off against Placer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Placer is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
