Softball Recap: Oak Lawn Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

Oak Lawn won the last time they faced Crete-Monee and things went their way on Friday too. The Spartans blew past the Warriors 18-2. Considering the Spartans have won eight matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Aleksandria Blanco made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Kamya Feigl was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Katie Casey was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Oak Lawn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .697. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Oak Lawn is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Crete-Monee, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Oak Lawn will host Hinsdale Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Crete-Monee, they will head out to challenge Rich Township at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
