The Moberly Spartans's game on Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 62-54 victory over Centralia. For Moberly, this counts as revenge for the 42-41 defeat Centralia walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Moberly found their leader in underclassman Kish Jacobs jr, who scored 22 points. Jacobs jr set a new season high mark in points with 22. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Rucker, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Moberly now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Centralia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.
Moberly will head out on the road to face off against Hannibal at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hannibal has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Centralia, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against California at 7:30 p.m.
