Chino Hills has gone a perfect 4-0 against Rancho Cucamonga recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Chino Hills Huskies will face off against the Rancho Cucamonga Cougars at 4:45 p.m.
Chino Hills is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Elsinore just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. While the Huskies didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 25-19 in the first set.
Chino Hills was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Elsinore work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 29-27, 25-21, 26-28, 19-17.

Despite their defeat, Chino Hills saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Sean Spicer, who had 28 kills, nine digs, and three aces, was perhaps the best of all. That's the most digs Spicer has posted over his last eight contests. Another player making a difference was Anthony Sabbara, who had eight digs and three aces.
Spicer wasn't the only good server: Chino Hills was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Rancho Cucamonga entered their tilt with Alta Loma on Thursday with six consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with seven. They put the hurt on the Braves with a sharp 3-0 victory. While the Cougars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Rancho Cucamonga's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Chino Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Chino Hills took their victory against Rancho Cucamonga when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chino Hills since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
