5A Region 6 recap October 22, 2013
Moody added to the longest winning streak in 5A Region 6 this week by beating Curry, 48-20. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Moody's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Michael Barron threw for 231 and 2 touchdowns and Rylee Davis had 91 yards receiving. On the ground Dee Williams chipped in 73 yards. Terrell Martin helped Moody's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 66 yards.
Barron put up the best numbers in passing as Jay Brown's team defeated the Yellowjackets. Barron's favorite target this week was Davis, who caught 2 passes for 91 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Blue Devils' Barron and Martin have proven to be a lethal combination. Barron has thrown for 1,321 yards this season, while Martin has 29 catches for 603 yards. Devlin Hodges from Jordan leads the league in rushing with 560 yards.
As it stands, the Blue Devils are in fifth, while Center Point is in first.
Pinson Valley led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Springville.
