The Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats will square off against the Martinsville Bluestreaks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Martinsville took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City made easy work of Mulberry Grove and carried off a 16-1 win.

Clive Schlanser was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City let Connor Vaughn and Kale Hardimon run wild. Vaughn went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run, while Hardimon went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Vaughn a new career-high. Conner Nowitzke was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .697. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Martinsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 21-1 to Red Hill.
Martinsville's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, their victory bumped their record up to 6-13.
Everything went Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's way against Martinsville when the teams last played back in May of 2023, as Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City made off with a 14-0 win.
