The Milton Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Mount Pisgah Christian Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Milton will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
In what's become a running theme this season, Milton gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They breezed by Denmark on the road to the tune of 69-33. Given Milton's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Denmark is ranked 159th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Milton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nya Smith, who scored 27 points along with two steals. Smith is crushing the point category: she's posted at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Londyn Walker, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.
Meanwhile, Mount Pisgah Christian pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 66-59 to Galloway. Mount Pisgah Christian has not had much luck with Galloway recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Milton pushed their record up to 21-2 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Mount Pisgah Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.
Everything went Milton's way against Mount Pisgah Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2022 as Milton made off with a 59-36 win. Does Milton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mount Pisgah Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
