The Hug Hawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They breezed by Sparks on the road to the tune of 79-45. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-21.
Hug's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amari Davis, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Rayshawn Elisher, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Several Railroaders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaoquin Tagulao, who dropped a triple-double on 13 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists. Tagulao hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Flores, who scored 18 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Hug and bumps their season record up to 7-9. As for Sparks, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Hug will be playing in front of their home fans against Truckee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Truckee is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses. As for Sparks, they will head out on the road to square off against South Tahoe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
