It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Forsyth Home Educators Hawks ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Surry HomeSchool out 51-48. The victory was nothing new for Forsyth Home Educators as they're now sitting on four straight.
Cooper Clontz was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Forsyth Home Educators' points. Another player making a difference was Nolan Holley, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Surry HomeSchool had strong showings from Tyler Spence, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds, and Isaiah Mauser, who scored 21 points. The contest was Spence's sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Forsyth Home Educators' win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-7. As for Surry HomeSchool, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forsyth Home Educators will be home for the holidays to greet Phoenix Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Surry HomeSchool, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Millennium at 7:30 p.m. on December 14th. Millennium comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
