It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Reeltown Rebels had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 34-14 margin over Wicksburg. Reeltown's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Traylen Roberts was on fire: he rushed for 220 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Roberts really tore up the turf during one magnificent 82-yard run. Arthur Woods was another key contributor, rushing for 145 yards and a touchdown.
Reeltown's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB ten times. Wicksburg's QB won't forget Devin Bragg anytime soon given Bragg sacked him 2.5 times.
Despite the defeat, Wicksburg saw an underclassman step up: Mason Burkhardt rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 95 yards and a touchdown. Burkhardt has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last three times he's played.
Reeltown's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.7 points. As for Wicksburg, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Reeltown has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Thorsby at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Thorsby is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Wicksburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
