The Southwood Knights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 77-32 victory over North Miami on the road. The victory was some much needed relief for Southwood as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Southwood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryce Wilcox, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Wilcox is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Emery Liddick was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Despite the loss, North Miami still got an impressive performance from Jacob Riley, who scored 17 points. That was a full 53.1% of North Miami's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Southwood's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for North Miami, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with that defeat, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.
Southwood will take on Rochester at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Rochester focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday. As for North Miami, they will head out on the road to face off against Whitko at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Whitko knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully North Miami likes a good challenge.
