There's no place like home for the MAST Charter II Voyagers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Strawberry Mansion 60-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
MAST Charter II's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cedric Williams, who scored 20 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least 25% of MAST Charter II's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Basil Graham, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
MAST Charter II's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Strawberry Mansion, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
MAST Charter II will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Garnet Valley at 8:00 p.m. on December 27th. Strawberry Mansion will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Philadelphia at 3:15 p.m. on January 4, 2024. South Philadelphia is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
