Miller Grove is 0-10 against Southwest DeKalb since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Miller Grove Wolverines will head out on the road to face off against the Southwest DeKalb Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Miller Grove will be strutting in after a win while Southwest DeKalb will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Saturday, Miller Grove didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Lithonia, but they still walked away with a 37-32 win.
It was another big night for Kamiya Moore, who scored 13 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Arieyona Christion, who scored two points along with 11 rebounds and six steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Southwest DeKalb's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They received a tough blow as they fell 68-49 to Holy Innocents Episcopal. Southwest DeKalb has struggled against Holy Innocents Episcopal recently, as their match on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Miller Grove's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8. As for Southwest DeKalb, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.
Miller Grove was taken down by Southwest DeKalb 70-25 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Miller Grove avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
