The New Prairie Cougars stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They breezed by South Bend Riley on the road to the tune of 56-24. Given New Prairie's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while South Bend Riley is ranked 375th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
New Prairie was led to victory by Jayden Flagg and Jolie Johns. Flagg scored 19 points along with three steals, while Johns scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johns has scored all season. Morgan White was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five steals.
New Prairie's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for South Bend Riley, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-15.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Prairie will take on Bremen at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Kila Foster and Flagg. As for South Bend Riley, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Granger Christian at 6:00 p.m.
