This season hasn't been kind to the Madison Christian Eagles, who are still winless after their fifth match. The matchup between Madison Christian and Genoa Christian Academy wasn't particularly close, with Madison Christian falling 58-43. Madison Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Genoa Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.
Leading Genoa Christian Academy to victory were Cody Griffey and Jackson Kirura. Griffey scored 14 points, while Kirura scored 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Gilham, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Madison Christian's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Genoa Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Madison Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Horizon Science Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Genoa Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Patriot Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
