The Mountain Empire Redhawks will head out on the road to take on the King-Chavez Community Lions at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Mountain Empire focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Mountain Empire came up short against Monarch and fell 55-47.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Andrew Sepulveda, who scored 26 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Corey Vann, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, King-Chavez Community's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 48-29 bruising from School for Entrepreneurship & Technology.
Mountain Empire's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for King-Chavez Community, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-2.
Everything came up roses for Mountain Empire against King-Chavez Community when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 51-16 victory.
