Malone was led to victory by Hoke Harkrider and Jackson Welch. Harkrider scored 13 points along with five steals, while Welch dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Harkrider continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamerious Sims, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Malone's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Poplar Springs, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-14.
Malone won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Cottondale at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Cottondale is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games. As for Poplar Springs, they will be playing at home against Rehobeth at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rehobeth presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Poplar Springs in their respective states (Rehobeth is ranked 271st in Alabama, while Poplar Springs is ranked 671st in Florida).
