It was a good run, but the Windham Whippets unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Norwich Free Academy by a score of 75-73. Windham was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Norwich Free Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Windham lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anthony Green. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 30 points and 14 rebounds. Those 30 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Tahj Jones, who scored 12 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Windham's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-3. As for Norwich Free Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season.
Windham will be playing in front of their home fans against Griswold at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Norwich Free Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Bernard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
