Humboldt had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Cherryvale on Tuesday. The Cubs blew past the Chargers 11-1. Considering the Cubs have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Humboldt pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cherryvale, they moved to 4-11 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Humboldt will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chargers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
