Basketball Recap: Tyner Academy Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

After losing to Chattanooga Prep the last time they met, Tyner Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Tyner Academy Rams walked away with a 75-64 victory over the Chattanooga Prep Sentinels on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Tyner Academy had a senior duo take command as Rodney Henderson III dropped a triple-double on 21 points, 12 rebounds, and ten assists and Adarius Brewster went 9 of 16 on his way to 26 points in addition to five boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave Brewster a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kohl Ward, who went 5 for 10 en route to 14 points.

Despite the loss, Chattanooga Prep still got an impressive performance from Derrick Roberson, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 17 points and seven boards. Cadence Collins was another key player, putting up ten points and five assists.

Tyner Academy pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 84.3 points per game. As for Chattanooga Prep, they moved to 14-5 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Tyner Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 77-53 victory against East Ridge on the 21st. Chattanooga Prep has also already played their next game, a 63-53 win against Bradley Central on the 21st.
