Baseball Recap: Batesburg-Leesville's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

It was a proper cat-fight when Batesburg-Leesville took on Saluda on Tuesday. The Panthers came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 8-5. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The team relied heavily on Tanner Watkins, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Reese Boehnke, who went 1-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Batesburg-Leesville's win bumped their record up to 14-4-1. As for Saluda, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Batesburg-Leesville will take on Barnwell at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 2.6, the Warhorses 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Saluda, they will challenge South Aiken at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
