The Southview Christian Conquerors will head out on the road to face off against the Surry HomeSchool Runnin' Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southview Christian is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Southview Christian came up short against the Chargers and fell 47-35. Southview Christian has not had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Meanwhile, Surry HomeSchool's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Guilford Home Educators, falling 88-51. Surry HomeSchool was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-28.
Surry HomeSchool's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tyler Spence, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, and Isaiah Mauser who scored 17 points along with three steals. Spence has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Hayden Williams, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds.
Southview Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Surry HomeSchool, their loss dropped their record down to 12-17.
Southview Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over the Runnin' Patriots in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 63-56. Will Southview Christian repeat their success, or do the Runnin' Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
