The Presentation Toppers will challenge the Valley Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
Presentation came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 13-3 to Shelby County. The loss continues a trend for the Toppers in their meetings with the Rockets: they've now lost five in a row.
Presentation saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joanna Logsdon, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another was Lily Denton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Valley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Waggener on Thursday. The Vikings blew past the Wildcats 17-2. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Vikings' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Kaydence Bailey made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Valley got a massive performance out of Makenna Perry, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases Perry has posted since back in March of 2025. Jadelynn Dixon was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with seven stolen bases and four runs.
Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .788. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Waggener only posted an OBP of .278.
Valley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Presentation, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Presentation got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2016 against Valley by a conclusive 9-0 score. Do the Toppers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
