Whitwell was the 48-19 winner over Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Whitwell Tigers were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 42-41 to the Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts Eagles. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Whitwell lost, don't look at Ella Grace Harvey. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Brock, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 13 points.

Even though they lost, Whitwell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Whitwell's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Whitwell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-44 loss against South Pittsburg on the 13th. As for Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Copper Basin at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
