Make it seven blowout wins for the Fort Calhoun Pioneers this season. They were the clear victor by a 68-44 margin over Douglas County West. Winning may never get old, but Fort Calhoun sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Fort Calhoun's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Raeann Massey, who scored 17 points along with nine blocks. Massey hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Maelie Nelson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Several Falcon players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grace Holm, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Carley Shaw, who scored eight points along with two blocks.
Fort Calhoun's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Douglas County West, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
Fort Calhoun will head out on the road to face off against Arlington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Arlington has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Douglas County West, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Syracuse at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
