Strasburg barely beat Clarke County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 12-4 victory on Monday. Considering the Rams have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Ava Mayhew made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
