If the Edgemont Moguls were riding high off their 60-27 takedown of the Oelrichs Tigers on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Edgemont ended up on the wrong side of a tough 65-45 walloping at the hands of Moorcroft on Saturday. The contest was a 27-27 toss-up at halftime, but Edgemont was outscored by Moorcroft in the second.
Edgemont lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Keaton Darrow, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Cian Waite, who scored 14 points.
Edgemont's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Moorcroft, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edgemont and Hyannis will face off at 5:45 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hyannis will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. As for Moorcroft, they will head out on the road to take on Newcastle at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Newcastle is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
