Softball Recap: Mott Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Mott got themselves on the board against Lamphere on Thursday, but Lamphere never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Marauders have won 16 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Mott has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lamphere, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-11.

Coming up, Mott will welcome Oakland Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.85 runs per game on average), something the Marauders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lamphere, they are taking a road trip to face off against Roseville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rams are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
